Yes, My Blog Is As Jacked Up As It Looks
Friday, December 24, 2010

In big news, my mother-in-law's consult went pretty well. The bad news is there are some spots on both her kidney and her lungs. The good news is her blood work looks phenomenal which sort of doesn't jibe with the whole cancer thing and so it gives her doctors hope, that perhaps this cancer is fixable. And her wonderful new doctor already has a game plan in place. There will be a biopsy of both her kidney and lungs but the doc says the spots in her lungs can be taken care of with medication. The big worry with the kidney was that she would get to the Cancer Center and the docs would say she was not a candidate for a partial removal. And that was a big, black, scary question mark. But our new Wonder Guy says that it is doable and he's the man to do it. Now, it's just a matter of waiting to see what the biopsy says.

And that isn't scheduled until January.

In other news, once again, I must apologize for my lack of presence in the blogworld, I promise as soon as this hurricane of personal mayhem settles down around me, I will be back to being a good blog friend.
In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas!

With everything that unfolded around here in the last week, I never got out my durn Christmas cards. Maybe I'll make them Valentine's Cards.

But here's an image from my most favorite Christmas card. My Julia was just a few weeks old when I draped the foyer in my old house in pink tulle and cotton fluff and made a photo shoot of my three perfect angels.

How the days and years have flown by.
From my house to yours, may your Christmas be blessed with happiness and love. And may this new year bring all of us joy.

Merry Christmas my darling friends.

Well, to be honest, I kinda like the plain look. But the old way was probably better. Who am I to say, I am just a guy.

Glad to hear the good news about your mother in law. Hope that it makes Christmas a little more enjoyable for you.

Speaking of which have a very Merry Christmas!

I am hysterical that this woman's lack of professionalism is not your wallpaper. It's really cracking me up.

But I am sad for you because I did like your blog format.

January is very far away. I amazed they can wait that long but it sounds like they know what they are doing. You might be ready for the looney bin by then, huh?

The news sounds good about your MIL. I have to deal with the foxnews too as hubby turns it on the minute he walks in the door. Good god, drives me nuts. The only guy I can tolerate is Shepard Smith.

Your girls look so sweet and innocent. How time flies. My boys are home too. It's so nice. The middle one brought his drums with him. Help!

Have a wonderful Christmas. I hope to see your sweet pink blog layout return. She should have backed it up for you. I just happened to back mine up the other day. If you get it fixed, you should do that too :)

Have a most wonderful Christmas! I didn't even notice the lack of blog design, as I'm here only to read about what's been going on in your life. Hands full, sounds like. Me, too, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Merry Christmas!

Best luck with all of this. Those are the sweetest Christmas Angels.

Technology has it's own special brand of stress.

Prayers to all of you. XD

Wow. What angels. Beautiful picture.

Sorry about your blog. That blows in all ways things can blow.

On the plus side, very good news about MIL's health.

But oy vey on the smothering. Tell FIL viewers of FOX news are actually more misinformed about facts than viewers of other stations. It's true. Then again, if it keeps him out of your hair...

Anyway. Merry Christmas to you, my amazing, gorgeous friend!

My Darling of Darlings: I'm so glad the kids are playing with the new Wii game so I can talk to you.

First: please don't apologize for not being around. We love you faithfully, and not based on visits to out blog.

I feel for you with the blog picture dilemma, but, please 'tis only a blog and think of your MIL's good news and take care of your BP.

Remember the "reals", honey, remember the "reals."

And God BLess you that someone loves you enough to want to bask in your presence.

What a lovely thing you have there, to matter to someone.

Makes me want to cry, cuz I remember when my babies wouldn't even let me take a shower, they were so in love with me.

Merry Christmas, girl..it is what it is, right?

Hello Joann....my word you are right...thought I was in the wrong place.
Do hope you get your page sorted out.
Your situation has been on my mind a lot. You are a strong lady and I just know your MIL loves you to bits.Hang in there,my friend.

Such a sweet picture! Merry Christmas!

Regarding the blog pics - hopefully, once the bandwidth counter rolls over again (usually once a month) you'll get back all your pics. Unless your designer has a sudden massive influx of viewers on all her designed blogs and it maxes the bandwidth again. Or if something else is up.

But when/if they all come home again, you be sure to demand copies off all your pictures! I hope she gets back to you with answers soon!

Merry Christmas, Joann. Everything will be all right!!! I do know what you mean about having company that can't work your equipment and talks you into a coma. My in-laws came once for a 5-WEEK VISIT! No kidding. They stayed from Thanksgiving to New Years. That is 5 weeks of them camped at my breakfast nook table, not being able to run around in my underwear, not being able to watch my TV shows and them waiting for me to make the coffee in the morning. Yikes! Glad your MIL has a great new doctor!!!

Jo, I'm so sorry about your blog. That is no fun. But it has a certain kitsch to it, that "bandwidth exceeded" logo :)

I'm happy to hear things are going in a positive direction with MIL. Great news!!!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas my dear! That picture is just precious.

AW your girls are adorable!! Love it.

And your blog- crazy. I was a bit taken aback when your page loaded. Your design was so pretty, I hope things can still work out.

Have a Merry Christmas!!

Can't help with the blog design, sorry! Would you like to send your mother-in-law down here? I could do with someone to talk to!

Hope you get your blog worked out! My dad was a Fox news/C-span junkie and I can totally see your mother in laws need to cling, that stuff will wear you out. And my dad had to listen to it so loud that you couldn't escape it. Horrifying!
I'm shooting for Ground Hog's Day cards this year! Maybe, that or April Fools!

Aww, I am so sorry about the whole bandwith thing. Seems like that's a no brainer to fix.

Glad to hear the good news about your MIL, and bless you for all your patience and the ultra soft pair of kid gloves you are wearing these days!

Love your angels photo, too!

This is just bizarre! I ran across it on another blog as well. If you paid someone to do your page, I would be for sueing them! Yes, as you can tell, Christmas is over! Hope you had a great one, and am anxious to hear the latest on your sweet MIL.

Oh, I read this yesterday, and I revisited today hoping to leave a congrats on the fixed problem.

Hmmm.

So sorry for the unfixed problem!

And seriously, we need to get our MILs together. There is nothing I do not know about the entire family, her co-workers families, their mailman, the checker at the market, every show on HGTV...

Silence is golden for a reason :- )

There is something helpless hopeless endlessly frustrating about tech issues. I lost most of my comments through a change in the company behind my widget. Deep breaths helped... a teeny tiny bit....

Good doctors are rays of sunshine in a scary medical world. Hope MIL gets better fast... for both of your sakes.

That old Christmas card picture is spectacular enough that you could just use it again next year...it is that cute!

No apologies necessary for taking care of real world, real life matters and therefore not being around blog world as much lately. Real things first...we will all be here when you get back!

It is wonderful to hear the news about your mother-in-law. Hopeful is good. Doable is good.

So sorry about your tech situation. I wish I knew an answer on that for you. Hopefully she has just been busy with the holidays and your fanciness will be restored soon!

the angel photo is awesome, love it! hears hoping 2011 is filled with good health for you and your loved ones.

That is a wonderful picture. How sweet!

If it makes you feel any better, not only did I not get our Christmas cards sent out this year (or even handed out to the people we saw on Christmas), the cards I did NOT send and the pictures that were NOT in them are the same cards and pictures that I did NOT send last year. So, to recap, unless I go with your Valentine's Day Christmas cards idea, the cards and pictures that MIGHT be sent next year will be from 2009. Yea me. And I don't have nearly the excuse that you do.

First off, my web designer who just rebuilt midchix, is the best. Steve Walton at Pastmax.com. He is a smart cookie and listens well, (tho' he may give you mil a run for the money in terms of talk time!) Give him a jingle, I bet he can fix you up in no time.

The photo of the girls is precious and what I love is that your family seems to still radiate the same kind of love that we have for our kids when they're little, even when they grow up!

I bet you are giving your mother-in-law the kind of comfort that she has never known. And showing your girls what love is really all about. Lots of warm wishes to you and your fam for the coming year. Gretch
